Note

galbanum

fresh, cool, a top note.

The green note. Bitter, intensely vegetal, slightly resinous. The 'snap of broken stem' feeling. Defined the green chypres of the 1970s (Cabochard, Y, Vent Vert). Modern perfumery uses it sparingly — galbanum at full strength is divisive.
