Note

iris

soft, a heart note.

Among the most expensive fragrance ingredients on earth. The aroma comes from the dried rhizome, aged 3-5 years, then steam-distilled. Real iris is powdery, cool, vaguely metallic, distantly carrot-y. It signals 'serious perfumery'. Dior Homme, Chanel No. 19, Hermès Hiris.
